O Anandatirtha! Destroy My Troubles

संसारोत्तापनित्योपशमद सदयस्नेहहासाम्बुपूर |
प्रोद्यद्विद्यानवद्य द्युतिमणिकिरण श्रेणिसंपूरिताशः ||
श्रीवत्साङ्काधिवासोचिततर सरल श्रीमदानन्दतीर्थ |
क्षीराम्बोधिर्विभिन्द्यात् भवदनभिमतं भूरि मे भूतिहेतुः || 6 ||

In this, the sixth, shloka of Sri Hari Vayu Stuti, the author Sri Trivikrama Panditacharya makes a fervent prayer to Srimadanandatirtha Guruvarya. He requests Srimadacharya to grind all his troubles to pieces. He explains why such a prayer to Vayudeva is most appropriate by waxing eloquently about his various auspicious qualities. One who is full of auspicious attributes and has no trace of defects or fallibilities is obviously the one who can grant his devotees the same. Hence this line of prayer is very apt.

Sri Panditacharya says thus:

O Srimadanandatirtha श्रीमदानन्दतीर्थ!

You provide relief उपशमद from the daily and relentless नित्य troubles (the three taapas or taapa-traya) उत्ताप that occur in our life संसार.

You are verily the ocean अम्बुपूर of gentle smiles हास that is full of compassion सदय filled affection and love स्नेह.

The blemish-free अनवद्य lustre द्युति rising प्रोद्यद् from your face due to the knowledge विद्या you possess has filled संपूरित all directions अशः like the rays किरण emanating from rows श्रेणि of precious jewels मणि.

You are most qualified उचिततर , in fact excellent सरल, for the residence (in your heart) अधिवास of Sriman Narayana, who bears the Srivatsa mark on his chest श्रीवत्साङ्क and is the cause for spiritual and material wealth (and also the origin of Sri Lakshmi herself) भूतिहेतुः.

May Srimadanandatirtha श्रीमदानन्दतीर्थ, who is like the ocean of milk क्षीराम्बोधिः to us, pound away to pieces विभिन्द्यात् all the excessively भूरि inauspicious अनभिमतं that is happening भवत् to me (in my life) मे.

To paraphrase this shloka, the author says:

O Sri Anandatirtha Muni! You are the one who relieves us from the daily and relentless troubles of our life. You are an ocean of compassion and love-filled smile and affection. The lustre emanating from your face is due to the excellent knowledge you possess and is equivalent to the radiance that precious jewels give out. Just like the ksheerasagara, you too are qualified for the residence of Sri Lakshmi Narayana in your heart. May you destroy all the anishta that is happening in my life!
